Harlan Coben’s “Don’t Let Go”
Books catch my attention in lots of ways. The back cover of course, word-of-mouth, prologues, and yes – I admit – I do sometimes judge them by their covers.
But getting enticed by a book by an Author’s Note was a first for me, and that is exactly what happened with the fabulous Harlan Coben’s Don’t Let Go (Dutton, 2017).
Perhaps it’s because I’m from New Jersey and that’s the setting of this ferociously engrossing novel, but I really don’t think so. It could’ve been set anywhere and I would’ve been just as intrigued. And the book doesn’t disappoint – it grips you like a hungry python from the Author’s Note and doesn’t let go till the last word.
Coben’s novels are always guaranteed grand slams but he really hits the cover off the ball with this one.
