Having six children does not allow much “alone time” for my partner and I, let alone a vacation by ourselves. But with a lovely milestone-ish anniversary to celebrate, we decided to do just that. Although pretty secluded and without much by way of American news, we found out that we’d avoided a snowstorm back home. But sitting on a chaise bathing in ninety-degree sunshine in the middle of paradise, I was chilled to the bone. Why? Because I was knee-deep in the raw, harrowing tale of The Wife Between Us.
When shopping for books to take on the trip, just looking at the cover, one of the most interesting things struck me: it was penned by two authors. Intrigued, I read the back and knew I must have it at once.
By all accounts, this is a must-read – it’s creep-level rises and never plateaus; its characters are multi-faceted and surprising; and, well, if you can anticipate the ending then my hat is off to you because I was gobsmacked.
Just a fantastic, well-executed story written by two talented women.
